May full of flowers - workshops, courses and preparations for summer

With the arrival of true spring, the florist's space was beginning to smell of peonies, lilacs and fresh greenery, and the calendar was filling up with events and also plans for the next workshop meetings.

The whole florist was smelling of May! Peonies, hydrangeas, carnations, lilacs, levonias, freesias, lily of the valley, hollyhocks, lion's mane, twig roses, celosia and gloriosa made themselves at home in the flower shop.

New challenges - event floristry course

One of the highlights of this month for me was starting a course in event floristry. I've been dreaming of deepening my knowledge in this direction for a long time - because although the day-to-day work in a florist's shop is very rewarding, large event floristry is a space in which to go wild!

At the first congress I explored the practical and theoretical knowledge of premium custom event compositions, the latest wedding and event trends for companies. Creating spatial decorations requires not only imagination but also technical and organisational skills, as I found out not for the first time.

I am already looking forward to implementing new ideas and responding even better to your needs - especially in the context of weddings and corporate settings.

Mother's Day

As always, it was a very intense time for us.
We started preparations at the beginning of the month - because many people ordered bouquets in advance, especially those with shipping to mums in other cities. And this year, due to the date of the holiday falling around a weekend, interest increased further - in response to the growing interest, we were helped by a number of ready-made bouquet suggestions and interesting decorative plants to take away, as well as orders placed in advance via the online shop, which gave us more time to organise. For large events - the perfect solution.

The most popular flowers for mothers were peonies, roses in powdered shades, sunflowers, eustoms and fragrant flowers: twig roses, levconias, freesias and lilies. Garden and field style bouquets were very popular - natural, fine and light.

It was also very touching to hear your stories often about what your mum likes, what flowers she chooses, her favourite colour scheme. For me, this is the most beautiful side of this work - that the flowers become a personal gesture and a carrier of emotions.

It was evident that great joy was taken by the participants in the floristry workshop at the ladies' evening. The theme was, as always, head garlands, in May mainly made of cut flowers.

The girls came to the workshop full of energy and good humour. I think the results of the workshop efforts exceeded their wildest expectations. Each participant created a unique garland, perfectly matching her style and dress! Evenings spent in this way are extremely atmospheric. Laughter, flowers, the sound of music... a souvenir photo shoot! I love such get-togethers because they show that floristry can be a beautiful, shared experience.

Wedding season

In May, we also officially began preparations for the wedding season, with the first bridal bouquets and floral accessories for the brides being created.

This year's bouquet types varied from romantic and classic peony compositions, to rustic bouquets and garlands of field flowers, to expressive boho-style bouquets with elements of grasses and dried plants. Each such order is a different story and accompanying you on one of the most important days of your life - is a great honour for me.

Summary

May was full of inspiration, learning and floral excitement. I'm glad I was able to grow, meet new people at workshops, had someone to create bouquets for, and the opportunity to fully start preparing for wedding realisations.

June is ahead of us - and that includes more workshops, wedding trips and new floral challenges. I can't wait!

Thank you for being there!

We invite you to the florist W Korcu Maku in Katowice and to our florist workshops.
